Peer Gynt Seminar
PEER, YOU'RE LYING!
Since 1867, Henrik Ibsen's dramatic poem Peer Gynt has been staged in many places around the world.
In November, this base text of Norwegian literature is staged by Ugala teater, based on a new Estonian translation by Riina Hanso and Paul-Eerik Rummo.
Before the performance of November the 19th in Vanemusie, the University of Tartu Department of Scandinavian Studies invites you to a seminar. The seminar will be held in Estonian and English.
Ibsen's Peer Gynt will be illuminated from both a professional and personal perspective by professor of Scandinavian Studies DANIEL SÄVBORG, visiting lecturer of Norwegian language and literature ØYVIND RANGØY and poet and Peer Gynt translator PAUL-EERIK RUMMO.
The seminar is open to anyone interested and is held November 19th 16–18 at Juhan Liivi 4-308 (third floor).
The seminar is supported by the Norwegian Embassy.
